Created by design student Conor Sheridan, Lagom is a grocery concept aimed at reducing needless waste. Inspired by the issue around current supermarket chain food wastage in his native United Kingdom, Sheridan created a design scheme and market concept that avoided what he describes as retailers passing on savings by overselling produce.
The pared down design scheme for Lagom uses a large amount of white space to denote its insistence on no frills and lack of waste. The packaging range for the Lagom concept store is simple and customized to each order, as the store would allow for consumers to buy just the amount they need.
Lagom is a Swedish word meaning "just the right amount."
