The 'Grinch's Grotto' Holiday Experience is Coming to Square One

In honor of the holiday season, Square One is transforming its space into The Grinch's Grotto, a Grinch holiday experience that runs from November 27 through January 3. The unique experience follows the depiction in the classic story and features a burlap sack full of presents, a Grinch stylized holiday tree, and a backlit fireplace with hanging stockings.

Guests are able to choose a variety of 2020 slogan for their photos with the Grinch. Sample slogans include, "You’re a mean one, 2020," "2020: 'Stink, Stank, Stunk'," "2020 - How The Grinch stole, well, the whole year" and some positive ones including "The Grinch still can’t steal Christmas!"

"Entertainment is an important part of what shopping centres offer communities. We’re bringing a one-of-a-kind experience the whole family can enjoy to Square One Shopping Centre," said Bradley Jones, Head of Retail, Oxford Properties. "The Grinch’s Grotto delivers all the fun of this iconic Dr. Seuss tale in a socially distanced environment with scheduled entry times. Shopping centres are a big part of the holidays and this themed installation combines entertainment and holiday photos in an exciting and innovative way."

The alternative to the traditional Santa Clause photo opportunity follows the company’s recent joint collaboration of The Dr. Seuss Experience at Square One–a "first-of-its-kind immersive journey through the iconic author’s most famous books," producing record-breaking sales. Its new collaboration is anticipated to have even greater success.
