According to DesignBoom, "the design process began with the observation that scientific researchers have been developing biomechanical or machine-like exoskeletons for medical, industrial, and military purposes." Lafforest wanted to translate this to his own work.
Pieces in the collection include a wardrobe, a dining table and a coffee table, both made from a darker wood material. Although each design has a symbolic meaning, they are all still very functional, and would work nicely in a modern home with the darker finishing.
