It's no coincidence that the Giotto Coffee Table looks a little bit like the leftovers after you've sharpened a pencil. Inspired by the way that the shavings curl around in a cone or a circle, the tabletop stirs more aesthetic intrigue than you would usually find in a basic family room furnishing.
Studio BAAG used ash wood and resin to build the three-legged side table with an apparently uneven woodgrain top. The piece was enhanced with black painted accents, giving it dark feet, a ring around it circular perimeter and a large spot in the middle. It begins to look as though it's excess graphite in the center and the exterior coating of the writing implement that's outlining the Giotto Coffee Table.
