Giopato & Coombes were asked to design the interior of an AW169 from an Italian-Anglo company, as part of the Flydeas for the City event. The team came up with a luxurious in-flight experience that challenges the traditional VIP treatment.
After much deliberating and testing, Giopato & Coombes used a variety of innovations for the interior. Noise-reducing paint was employed, along with "the construction of full-scale ergonomic mock-ups, carbon fiber armchairs, custom designed headphones, and important innovations such as the use of airbags to protect luggage in the hold," as stated on DesignBoom. Clearly no expense was spared to give people an unforgettable in-flight experience. The main challenge was being able to fit all of these attractive designs into a small space the size of, well, a helicopter to be precise.
