Real-Life Mighty Mouse

Se-Jin Lee, MD, PhD and colleagues at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at John Hopkins University have created freakishly strong mice. The scientists first blocked the protein myostatin, then overproduced the protein follistatin to produce a mouse with four times the muscle mass of normal mice. The de-skinned photos seen here show the small vs. the large mouse. I foresee a military line of super-human mutant-soldiers in our future...

Implications - And not only is that terrifying, it could form the basis of a great movie. Think about it: optimistic professors at Johns Hopkins trying to research drug usage when something goes horribly wrong and 'roided up mice take control. Sounds like a blockbuster to me.
