Brooklyn-based creative firm Ladies & Gentlemen Studio simultaneously embraces harmony and materiality in this garden shop display that showcases Muji's chic homeware collection. The artful presentation draws on the minimalist aesthetic and the material-use in the Japanese retailer's offerings. Distributed in seven vignettes, each portion of the garden shop display questions the materiality and spirituality of ceramics, plastic, linen, aluminum, water, glass and wood.
Ladies & Gentlemen Studio pairs up each of Muji's homeware offerings with a piece of the material that has been used in their making. As a result, there is not only a heightened sense of materiality but a more direct relationship between forming and manipulating resources to produce a wholesome and functionality-directed item for everyday use.
