Garage Italia Customs' Alfa Romeo 4C Hokusai is an ode to Japanese culture. The body is stunning and references an important piece of Japanese art called 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' which was painted by artist Katsushika Hokusai in the 18th century. According to Garage Italia, the Alfa Romeo 4C was chosen for this project because of its popularity in Japan.
What's incredible about the wave motif is that it was all hand-painted. The scene painted shows waves crashing across the car and nearly swallowing up fishing boats. To coincide with The Great Wave theme, the entire of the car is covered with denim and creamy leather. To infuse more Japanese culture into the vehicle, Garage Italia made the steering wheel and hand brake look like samurai swords.
