Last November marked the opening of “Platform 21 = Joyriding†an exhibit in Amsterdam that will run until February 3, 2008. Designers have stepped up to the plate and designed a broad range of futuristic concept car models equipped with “designer-pimped remote-controlled rides.â€
According to promoters, this event is “About form and feeling rather than engineering.†Some of the designs are from graduates of London's Royal College of Art, and they will remind you how exciting automotive design can be while keeping us all curious about the future.
While most men like a car design that provides robust reliability, quality and performance, I'd like to see a car designed with a makeup kit sun visor, a hand steadier for applying eyeliner, you know, maybe some Bilstein shocks for bumpy roads and quick stops, and a hair dryer/curling iron adapter for inclement weather. A garment steamer in the trunk would be nice too.
