German-based design student Tobias Tsamisis created this kitchen classroom hybrid called the ‘Future Kitchen.’ The idea for this project was to create a product that was functional, educational and environmentally considerate.
The design concept is a fully functioning kitchen island that is made of one long rectangle divided into three sections. One end of the table is a large fish tank and garden, which produces fruits and vegetables within itself. The center of the table is a hi-tech interface that can be used like a tablet or touch screen computer. The furthest end of the table is a cooking area with a stove and a sink that can be covered and hidden when not in use.
By combining three elements of life into one practical system, it creates an interactive education tool. The Future Kitchen design by Tobias Tsamisis is still a conceptual idea. However, it was created for the 2015 Electrolux Design Lab competition and hopes to become a real educational tool.
Sustainable Kitchen Classrooms
