Baohan Jiang Experiments with Perceptions of Time & Form

Royal College of Art graduate Baohan Jiang challenges concepts of time and form through a hand-built, deconstructed and functional wardrobe. The piece is minimalist and odd. It consists of a mirror and six clothing items — "an elongated shirt collar, two white gloves, a double-cuffed sleeve, a thin suitbag-like garment and a vest lined with plastic balls."

Through the experimental design of the functional wardrobe, Baohan Jiang hopes to provide commentary on the human experience of time. The silhouette is an installment of an on-going project that the graduate has adequately named 'The Moment.' The curious functional wardrobe is meant to alleviate the stress of questions like 'What should I wear today?,' ultimately addressing the "time crisis in contemporary life" that has been induced through fast-paced environments.
