Utah-based hybrid and electric truck manufacturer Nikola Motor Company has unveiled a behemoth of an electric truck, dubbed the Nikola Semi, that is designed to offer a truly unbeatable blend of speed, power, range and eco-friendly features all within the package of a powerful fuel cell truck.
This particular electric truck comes equipped with a hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain that is designed to be 100 percent free of emissions. The vehicle will be equipped with an 800-volt fuel cell that will make it possible for the truck to enjoy a mammoth range of well over 1,931 km due to the fact that it will consume only around 20 miles per gallon. The trucks will probably be used in conjunction with hydrogen produced from eco-friendly solar farms.
While this fuel cell truck is undoubtedly an audacious work of engineering, it could revolutionize long-haul trucking by introducing exceptional range and performance.
