The Svepa bicycle is both elegant and unique. Designer Par Blanking made use of plywood and aluminum for the frame and seat of the bicycle. The bike can be used by two people at a time, with one person pedaling and sitting on the back seat while the other stands on the rear footboard.
Note that the wheels are of different size. The back wheel is smaller than the front wheel to offer better balance, especially when two people are riding at once. There is also a front fender which allows for use as a kick bike.
The designer came up with the idea to take eco-commuting to the next level. He explains that research and prototyping was based on cleaning the river Po in Italy where they tried to get materials for the original model. The project aims to use no oil, and integrates a high quantity of nature in the material.
The Svepa bicycle is targeted at high-end, trendsetters looking for fun while commuting short distances.
