An installation currently on display at Milan Design Week 2021 consists of a fountain-like sculpture inspired by the female form. Designers Lolita Gomez and Blanca Algarra Sanchez have erected an installation based on the Korova Milk Bar from the dystopian film 'A Clockwork Orange.'
The installation takes part in the Alcova exhibition and consists of a circular bar filled with cups and siphons shaped in the form of udders and breasts. The artists were inspired by Stanley Kubrick's Korova Milk Bar set design - where men drink milk from naked female statues.
The designers incorporated the shape of a fountain, the idea of feeding, and the female form to create an installation that speaks to the ritual of being fed from milk. The installation has a pronounced sense of femininity while evoking a strong clinical feel that sparks conversation surrounding the factory farming industry.
