Ford's self-driving cars will be test subjects in Detroit, Ford's autonomous driving branch, titled Argo AI, announced its third iteration vehicles. The cars are Ford Fusion Hybrids and they will also have an upgraded sensor suite, additionally, the cars will have new radar and cameras with a better resolution and range.
The new Ford self-driving cars will replace the already existing test fleet of approximately 100 cars. Other test cities include Palo Alto, Pittsburgh, Miami, and Washington, but Detroit will be the main test city.
This announcement comes as Ford and Volkswagon are in talks for a potential partnership to produce self-driving cars, however, no agreement has been reached as of yet.
