This new venture would allow cyclists to rent the Ford-branded bicycles for up to 24 hours, placing them back in a respected bike-dock when they're not in use. This grab-and-go method of transportation has surged throughout major cities, providing users with the ability to commute short distances without having to commit to an expensive bike. This service ensures commuters can change their method of transportation from day to day. A fleet of 7,000 blue and white bikes completes the service, making Ford GoBike's the second largest in the U.S.
The industry titan says it is interested in expanding into the bike market to find solutions to the varied methods of transportation city dwellers select.
