Malek Alqadi Designs the Folly Mojave Wilderness Retreat

Los Angeles-based architect Malek Alqadi created the Folly Mojave, which is a wilderness retreat measuring 200 acres right at the intersection between the Mojave National Preserve and the Joshua Tree National Park. It is an off-grid home that is designed with inspiration from earthy tones and rocky textures.

Alqadi explains, "Folly Mojave acts as a nature-derived, divine space, welcoming guests seeking wellness, healing, and self-reflection." It is comprised of three properties which stand alone and welcome guests as suites. Each suite represents the four nature elements and it blends into the landscape throughout the day. The Water Suite has indoor and outdoor designs and sustainable utilities. The others are Fire, Stone, and Wind, which create a luxe experience with captivating views.
