London-based creative studio Blond has unveiled a versatile and visually distinctive folding charger concept which aims to reduce the impact of electronic waste on the environment.
The European Commission found that discarded and unused chargers are responsible for 11,000 tonnes of electronic waste each year. Blond developed Fold, a charger concept with a unique aesthetic look and feel, in response to the lack of environmentally conscious portable multi-chargers on the market today. In order to maintain or upgrade the charger, it can easily be taken apart. According to the brand, "this is especially important as charging technology continues to change."
James commented, "With Fold we feel that we have spotted a gap in the marketplace for a truly useful, universal and versatile wireless charger. The multi-functionality of Fold will mean that people can own fewer charging devices and therefore further play their part in helping to reduce the impact of electronic waste on the environment."
