The Flow Chair becomes your very own little nest in which you can curl up and forget about the world. It might come off as complex and chaotic at first, but a close look will reveal that the body of the chair has been sculpted from curvatures in its stiff bamboo material. The result is a smooth surface that makes for a comfy and ergonomic recliner.
Kao-Min Chen and Cheng-Tsung Feng developed the unique chair by an unusual method. First, the pair turned the hardy grass strips into spheres to create an elevated and springy base for the sofa. Next, long cuts of the woody material were draped across the balls like ribbons and then fixed in place to make the Flow Chair sturdy, while surprisingly lightweight.
