This enormous floral mosaic was created through a collaboration between many different people and sits in the Grand Place in Brussels, Belgium.
The "flowers carpet" is not the first to be displayed in the area but it represents something that has not yet been celebrated in the region. The piece was created through a collaboration between graphic designers, architects, illustrators and volunteers and is intended to celebrate the 150-year long friendship that Belgium and Japan have had. As a result, the floral mosaic -- which is made up of 600,000 flowers --makes up an intricate design inspired by Japanese art.
This celebratory art piece reflects the beauty that can come out of alliances between countries.
