In the town of Águeda, Portugal, hundreds of bright and colorful umbrellas are suspended above promenades creating the beautiful Floating Umbrella Installation.
Flickr photographer Patrícia Almeida took some photos of the installation while in Águeda, Portugal, which overhangs the promenade. The installation contains many brightly colored umbrellas that have been tied together and suspended over a popular walkway, creating an incredibly beautiful effect on the ground below. Patrícia says on her Flickr page that "In July in Águeda (a Portuguese town) some streets are decorated with colorful umbrellas. I felt like a kid, amazed by all that color!"
The Floating Umbrella Installation is a great idea for public art, as it provides a beautiful scenic walk and as an added bonus it provides some nice colorful shade.
