The Shed is Hosting a Unique Event with a Spherical Concert Hall

The Shed—a cultural center in Hudson Yards, Manhattan, New York City—is attempting to shake up the North American live music industry with this stunning concert hall. Named the 'Sonic Sphere,' the structure has a futuristic feel to it and certainly has the power to mesmerize audiences with its sculptural appeal alone. The floating concert hall is 65 feet in diameter and has the ability to "display immersive visuals and 3D sounds."

Titled 'Sonic Sphere,' the floating concert hall will be at The Shed from June 16th until July 7th. A number of 45-minute sessions of music and visuals—both live and recorded—will grace the stage. Some of the participating artists include The xx, Yaeji, Madame Gandhi, yunè pinku, and Igor Levit in collaboration with Rirkrit Tiravanija.
