Extremely Flexible Heels

Raphael Young Designs High-Tech Heels for Comfort

French shoe designer Raphael Young has designed heels to combat the trade-off of comfort for style, and he's such a believer in the design that he's even patented it.

The range of flexible heels, dubbed "R-Flex," blends latex gel and rubber into the leather sole, with a steel mechanism placed near the toe area to steady the heels and prevent ankle-twisting.

Young is said to have been inspired by a visit to a factory making shoes that are more flexible and adaptive to a person's walk, and wanted to make heels with the very same qualities of comfort and flexibility.

However, these flexible heels do not come cheap; at nearly $658 a pair, ladies might be better off with the old way of switching between flats and high-heels every day.
