Designers Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec recently created a flat pack sofa design for furniture brand Hay that offers a slender structural design that can be self-assembled to create comfortable lounging seats. The sofas, called Can, offer consumers with minimal space the ability to customize the design of their couches and set them up seamlessly in a variety of spaces due to their small size.
Couches tend to be one of the more bulkier furniture pieces home owners invest in, that come pre-built. The Can sofas completely diverge from this model, offering a pop-up design that can be assembled at home from a flat-pack packaging that is easy to transport to-and-from different locations. The sofas are built off of a steel tube frame with cushions that are added for comfort.
