Jamie Falla Architecture designed the 'Couin de Vacque,' a five-bedroom home located in Guernsey.
The sustainable residence takes the place of a crumbling 1950s villa. Because the home runs along the south boundary, the views look towards the north-east side. Glazed doors facilitate access to an infinity pool and accompanying courtyard.
Beyond providing beautiful views, the home relates to the landscape in terms of its materials. Namely, the concrete floors, recycled granite, glass, slate, zinc and green roof allow it to better harmonize with its environment. The site is also especially significant due to its proximity to the National Trust Field, a historically preserved space popular with hikers. The architects hope that the Couin de Vacque will one day "form part of Guernsey’s future heritage."
