Known for its fine textiles and famous paisley prints, Italian family brand Etro's Fall 2014 runway show was not only accomplished for its beautifully tailored pieces but for the fishtail braids the models donned on the runway.
The new collection features a whole lot of layering of textures, patterns, colors and embroideries that were perfectly complemented by the hippy fishtail braids.
Inspired by Himalayan landscapes, the whole Etro collection was rugged, boho and modern, and the hairstyle pays homage to women traveling the Silk Road. Fashion and beauty blogs exploded with tutorials on how to get the braid just right, and fans are going to be donning this style for a long time to come.
"I see the models as nomads who’ve traveled the Silk Road from China through Mongolia, Tibet and Nepal, passing through sandstorms and high winds of harsh travel," says hairstylist Eugene Souleiman.
