Sony has unveiled a new device that records digital TV signals to the hard drive of Play Station 3s. This turns the PS3 into a type of digital video recorder like TIVO or SKY's 'mySky' personal programme recorder. Much as the PS2 eliminated the need for a DVD player, the PS3 looks to eliminate the need for multiple devices. What's even more interesting is that you can beam the content wirelessly from the PS3 to your PSP, giving you a constant stream of the content you love on your PSP, making it a more desirable devise. The two products complement each other well and provide a very attractive portable TV/Video device.
Just like forward-thinkers played with early MP3 players long before the birth of Apple's iPod, a growing number of people are downloading and playing videos on portable players. Yet no company has come up with an easy solution for the mainstream. Apple looked to be doing so with Apple Tv, but until they introduce TV recording into their product, Sony seem to be taking the lead.
