The work from home migration that occurred earlier this year drastically changed the day-to-day life of professionals in a number of ways, so the conceptual 'Fika' coffee maker has been designed as a way to bring a touch of office life to a living space.
The coffee maker is imagined for a post-COVID-19 solution for the home that connects users to their colleagues as they brew a fresh cup of java. This time can be used to catch up and chat, and act as a replacement for the customary act of chatting with colleagues over a cup of water or coffee.
The conceptual 'Fika' coffee maker has been designed by Sydney Eilbacher, Jovan Vulic and Nathanael Boell of the Umeå Institute of Design in collaboration with Electrolux.
