The Fibonacci Cabinet Modernizes the Traditional Chinese Medicine Cabinet

The Fibonacci Cabinet is named after the Fibonacci sequence, which always begins with 0 and 1, and each subsequent number being the sum of the previous two. This results in drawers of varying sizes, all of which can be pieced together like a three dimensional puzzle to form a single rectangular form. Nevertheless, the beauty of the Fibonacci Cabinet is that it can remain altogether or split up to serve different purposes.

Designed by China-based design studio Utopia, the Fibonacci Cabinet is also inspired by the traditional Chinese medicine cabinet, Guangzhou. By changing up the sizes of the drawers, however, the Guangzhou has been given a subtle modern and modular makeover that will appeal to many.
