The Fan-Controlled Football League (FCFL) announced it is making its FCFL metaverse debut with four new NFT-tied teams. Two of these new teams will be controlled by the Bored Ape Yacht Club and the Gutter Cat Gang, respectively, while the other two will be controlled by the Knights of Degen and DJ Steve Aoki, respectively.
Each new FCFL metaverse team will be tied to thousands of NFTs that serve as a stake in the team. NFT holders will have a say in future team-related decisions such as team name, logo design, player drafting, roster choices for each game, and even strategies and playcalling. Additionally, these NFT holders will receive real-world perks as well, such as community events, access to sporting events, and physical merchandise.
In addition to expanding the FCFL to include NFT communities and metaverse collectibles, the company noted that it is working on a full-fledged game in the coming years.
