FLO and Metro Deploy Fast Charging Stations at Over 130 Grocery Locations

FLO, a leading North American EV charging company, and grocery chain Metro announced a partnership to deploy fast charging stations at over 130 grocery store locations across Quebec and Ontario. This initiative will see the installation of at least 500 fast charging ports starting in August 2024, making EV charging more accessible and convenient for drivers.

Louis Tremblay, CEO of FLO, emphasized the importance of widespread public charging options: "This partnership is about integrating the best EV charging experience into daily life and making it as routine as grocery shopping. Making public charging options widely available is key for Canada to achieve its environmental goals and transition to an emission-free transportation sector."

Supported by a $235 million commitment from the Canada Infrastructure Bank, this project is part of a broader effort to bring more than 1,900 public fast charging ports online across Canada by 2027. The installation of the fast charging stations at Metro includes the new dual port FLO Ultra fast charger, capable of delivering up to 320 kW of power, which can charge most new EVs to 80% in 15 minutes.
