Sasha Zabelina recreates famous movie posters by adding emojis. In recent years, emojis have been used for everything from food delivery services to domestic abuse campaigns. Now emojis have found a new purpose in the form of iconic film and TV show posters.
Zabelina is an art direction student at the Miami Ad School and she designed the new series as a means of putting a contemporary twist on famous movie posters. In order to create the whimsical designs, Zabelina looks at official movie posters and tries to think about the themes in the films themselves. She then adds emojis that best symbolizes the TV show or movie. The result is a minimalist interpretation of iconic movie posters.
