The Facility for Ecology Education built in Japan is situated on a massive power plant, allowing the building to gain energy from eco-friendly sources. Considering the structure teaches about ways to improve one's impact on the environment, it's appropriate that powering the area reduces carbon emissions.
The inside of the spaces are made from a lighter timber material, which creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This also helps produce an environment that's conducive to learning. The structure is made from three separate buildings that are all connected through different courtyard sections. As such people are able to grab some fresh air in between learning and not be stuck inside all day.
