Extreme Easter Egg-Hunting

10,000 Egg Helicopter Drop Turns Tradition Into Sport

Don’t bring Grandma to this year’s Easter Egg hunt in Denton, North Carolina. There will be 10,000 pastel, plastic bullets filled with candy and toys dropped from a helicopter at the local elementary school. Is that safe? But more importantly, is that still fun?

Even though the kids may enjoy seeing a helicopter so close up, it eliminates the traditional mystery of searching for treasures among the trees and bushes.

Just in case you are thinking a helicopter is too over the top during a financial crisis, be assured that some of the eggs contain gift cards to grocery stores, gas stations and even an Xbox 360. Let’s pray that all the participants of this year’s Piñata-style fiesta emerge safe and sound.
