Circular Library Bookshelves

Ex Libris' Curvy Design is Capable of Holding 20,000 Tomes

I can only wonder what librarians would make of Ex Libris. Ex Libris is a library design installation from Chanan de Lange that can hold up to 20,000 books in the most low-tech manner possible.

Ex Libris is a series of wooden slats clamped together and arranged in a circular shape. The unusual shape of Ex Libris prevents books from being stored standing, they must instead be placed face down in order to fit on the shelves. While these shelves may look less than eye-pleasing when barren, I am willing to bet that they would be captivating when filled with books. I have never seen a tornado of books before, but I am willing to bet that it would look something like Ex Libris.
