Elgato showcased its first foray into the Internet of Things, a collection titled the 'Elgato Eve,' at this year's CES trade show.
The HomeKit-compatible devices run on Bluetooth Low Energy, as opposed to Wi-Fi, making it more energy-efficient. It also means the devices don't need to be plugged into a central hub.
The Eve Door and Window tells homeowners if any of their home entrances have been left ajar. Meanwhile, the Eve Weather measures temperature, humidity and air pressure of the outdoors. It also compiles the data into weather graphs that users can access from the device itself. The Eve Room is focused on internal environments, tracking temperature, humidity and the quality of the air users are breathing within their homes.
