Thuma designs the Essential Bed, which is comprised of a kit of parts. All of the components are minimal and it is just as simple to craft as well. The bed is held securely by tension and friction once it is complete and it fuses inspiration from Japanese joinery with 100% upcycled wooden materials to elevate the platform bed.
As a basic form, the bed is elegant and simple with a frame to create the foundation and it maintains a comfortable low center of gravity without having to rely on a box spring. Additionally, the base comes in four oil-based finishes and all of these will comfortably develop a natural patina as time passes. Head of Brand Alec Banks shares, "The Product Design team has a high bar when it comes to modern convenience. Our commitment to intuitive design and ease has only grown with this launch."
