The ESPN+ streaming service is finally launching and is set to provide content specifically geared towards sports fans in a way that complements the traditional ESPN network, rather than replacing it. In this regard, the service will not have access to ESPN's flagship show SportsCenter. Instead, the ESPN+ streaming service will have its own original content, including shows that focus on news, scores and highlights about specific sports and leagues.
Unlike other streaming services, ESPN+ will not have its own standalone app and will instead be housed in the ESPN app for iOS, Apple TV, Android, Amazon devices and on web browsers. The service will feature more than 180 MLB and NHL games throughout the season, including one per day based on the league's schedule. The ESPN+ streaming service will feature content from MLB, NHL, MLS and college sports including baseball, basketball, football, golf, softball, soccer, wrestling and gymnastics.
