Utterly enchanting, the ethereal quality behind the Erna & Hrefna series makes this twin photo project unlike any other out there. Soft and sweet, the two girls are all skinny legs and long hair. Whether captured outdoors with horses or indoors in their ballet ensembles, the twins are like magical creatures that will have people believing in fairytales in no time.
The Erna & Hrefna photo series was shot by Ariko Inaoka, a photographer born in Kyoto, Japan, and based in Tokyo after living for a time in San Diego and New York City. A well-traveled woman, she met the twins while photographing the landscape of Iceland in 2009. She plans on taking their portraits until they turn 16 years of age. It will be beautiful to follow their (and her) journey.
