Renault's e-Plien Air Concept was recently revealed, the car is an electric, open-top, version of the original Renault 4 and 4L. The original model was built in the 1960s and was intended for military applications. However, despite its design, the original model was mostly used as a beach car. The new design aims to serve a similar purpose as an electric version of a classic and fun car.
The e-Plein Air Concept features a short wheelbase and has a range of 62 miles. An original part form the Renault 4 and 4L were used in the new car, including the steering wheel and dashboard as well as the umbrella-like gearshift. However the gauge cluster is now digital.
The car will not see mass production and will remain a concept.
