Apple integrates the new Emergency SOS feature through its satellite technology which will be seen in the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro smartphone models that are officially arriving later this month. Those who obtain the phones in Canada and the US will be able to use the satellite connection to help with relaying messages and location information to emergency services when they are out of cellular service.
This will be free only for the first two years and it will rely on the phone's antennas to properly connect to satellite frequencies. The company states that it takes less than 15 seconds to send a message and it can also use the Find My app to share location with friends and family.
