McLane Global Launched the Emergency Meals-to-You Program

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies and organizations are partnering to provide emergency meals for those in need. In the United States, leading food and logistics company McLane Global has debuted the Emergency Meals-to-You program in a public-private partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Baylor University Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, PepsiCo and others. The goal of this initiative is to provide five million emergency meals per week to children in need in rural areas.

Eligible school districts are able to easily sign up for this initiative through MealstoYou.org. Once the school is registered, families and their children can enroll. Individuals will receive a "two-week supply of shelf-stable, nutritious, individually packaged foods" within days of signing up.

McLane Global has shifted "to a 24-hour production schedule" in order to meet demand.
