Two design studios, Australian Maricor/Maricar and London-based Crossconnor, have teamed up to create this funny, whimsical series of embroidered logo parodies. They call the project 'Graffitees.'
Initially, the embroidered logo series was conceived as a tribute to Steve Irwin, the late Crocodile Hunter. By placing a crouching thread man next to the Lacoste embroidered logo, Maricor/Maricar and Crossconnor imaginatively replicated a scene from Irwin's beloved nature show. But the project grew beyond just the tribute. Using the little man in conjunction with the embroidered logo of some other fashion labels, the design team also created a scene of a naturalist riding a panda and observing a pony.
Now, the little figures inspired by the famous Crocodile Hunter can interact with any embroidered logo. The possibilities for parodies of the world's fashion labels are endless.
