Jaguar Land Rover South Africa is set to debut an all-electric Land Rover Defender at the upcoming INDABA. Working in conjunction with Europe's leading manufacturer and developer of lithium-ion batteries, Jaguar Land Rover South Africa has created an eco-friendly vehicle that will get you closer to the animal action than ever before.
The all-electric Land Rover Defender has a unique design that sees its battery pack mounted in the engine bay as opposed to on the axles. This is done so that the Land Rover Defender, famous for its ruggedness, wouldn't lose an inch of ground clearance or have to worry about fording water.
In testing, the electric Land Rover Defender performed exceptionally well, being able to maintain power for three times the length of a normal game drive and get closer to animals than its diesel-powered counterpart. The car is set to make its debut soon but will unfortunately be only available to game reserves.
