Bangkok's innovative on-demand electric boat taxi service aims to enhance the city's transportation infrastructure and support tourism. The new service is managed by Krung Thep Thanakom Co and the first electric boat taxis will operate along Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem and its surrounding canals. There are plans to expand the service to larger canals such as Khlong Lat Phrao.
Passengers will be able to book rides through a dedicated mobile app, and fares will be based on distance traveled. Krung Thep Thanakom Co worked with electric boat manufacturers to finalize the design and pricing for the vessels. In conjunction with the launch of the electric boat service, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is also enhancing its app-based motorcycle taxi service.
The integration of these services into the BMA’s app aims to provide users with a seamless and convenient transportation experience across various modes of transit.
