El Escondite is a minimalist tea set that plays a little game of hide and go seek. It does so by hiding away the cup underneath the pot. El Escondite comes complete with a cork tray, the cup rests face down in the middle in a designated spot and the pot is placed on top of both. When in use, the pot is removed and the tea cup flipped over on the tray.
Designed by Leslie Montes, an industrial design student based in Lawrence, Kansas, the El Escondite tea set was created during her year abroad at IED Madrid in Spain. She writes, "In addition to being a practical space-saver when it comes to storing your tea set, this product adds a playful touch to your morning cup of tea."
