Eckhaus Latta, a boutique American fashion label, has teamed up with the socially conscious cryptocurrency Ponyo Impact to launch its inaugural NFT collection dubbed 'EL 10.' The new digital-only fashion capsule also serves to celebrate the brand's 10th anniversary.
The new collection features a range of collectible NFTs, which feature 3D animations of ten real-life Eckhaus Latta looks taken directly from the brand's archives. The NFTs were created by the Seoul-based artist Leeseongil, who gave the digital models an alien-like quality by playing with their hairstyles, skin tones, eye colors, and more. In addition, the models are shown wearing the Eckhaus Latta pieces amidst a variety of dreamscape backgrounds, which were created by New York-based photographer KangHee Kim.
According to co-founder and designer Mike Eckhaus, deciding what pieces to include in the collection was a difficult and deeply personal undertaking.
"For us, it was trying to figure out pieces and looks that felt important to us on a personal level and what felt also Eckhaus Latta. It was an interesting editing process and thinking of how to have it be a mix of different things that we have explored over the past 10 years within our collections," explained Eckhause in a recent press statement.
