The 'Edison Floor' installation lets park-goers control the color of the spire that tops the World Trade Center in New York City. The interactive project is on display at Brooklyn Bridge Park, giving it one of the best views of the iconic Lower Manhattan skyline in any of the five boroughs.
The installation comes with three separate activities, all of which manipulate the color of the WTC's spire. One of the activities, called "Edison's Light Bulb," encourages people to work together. By jumping around on a lit-up digital floor, they must reflect electrical "current" into a light bulb image. When successful, that bulb glows one of five colors, and the WTC's spire does as well.
In commemoration of the US National Parks Service's 100th anniversary, it is only natural that Edison Floor takes place in the beautiful Brooklyn park.
