Ole Sondresen Architects recently designed an eco-friendly office headquarters for crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. With help from Camille Finefrock, the architecture firm converted an old pencil factory in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York.
The multi-purpose establishment has 29,000 square feet which now includes Kickstarter HQ, as well as a theater, library, green roof and gallery. The workspace interior and landscaping focuses on the green theme and eco-friendly office concept. The 8,500 square foot green roof is a key feature for the Kickstarter employees as it provides them with a garden to relax in. A central courtyard made out of glass also exists, which gives different levels access to natural light while also offering a view of the surrounding greenery.
