I've been using Method's line of environmentally friendly cleaning products for about two years now, and never really considered how cutting edge the company really is, both in the product and the company's branding. They line, which also includes body care items, is biodegradable, all natural and chemical free and also looks gorgeous; the bottles are the type you would be proud to have laying around if guests dropped in unexpected.
It wasn't until I noticed a feature in Fast Company's "The World's 50 Most Innovative Companies" feature that I realized we should cover Method. The magazine featured it all the way up at spot 16!
Method's line of cleaners are beautifully packaged, but unlike most products in designer skins, Method isn't outrageously expensive and its focus doesn't rely on aesthetics, but it values eco-moral qualities in each item.
As the world becomes more conscious of the global environment, the company is quickly climbing the charts in terms of popularity too. In 2005, Method's sales were at $15.3 million. In 2007, they were close to $100 million!
They offer items like the Swiffer competitor called the Omop which works like the Proctor & Gamble floor sweeper, yet Method's sheets are fully biodegradable and just as functional. Other products include the Detox Kit to "detox your home" which include my personal favourite cleaning items, French Lavender all purpose cleaner and Lemon Ginger floor cleaner.
The site lets you shop by product type of scent, so if you're particularly into Fresh Lychee or the lovely scent of Cut Grass, you can get all your products to match for an eco-friendly home that smells amazing too.
Even if you're new to Trendhunter.com, it probably didn't take you long to figure out that innovation is a key element to the site; not only do we continue to upgrade the design, content and functionality of the site, but we also focus on featuring cutting edge companies and products.
In addition to offering products, Method launched "People Against Dirty," which includes a blog that is "Dedicated to fight dirty in whatever form dirt appears."
We've featured eco-friendly plastic bag alternatives, a must have accessory for those following the eco-chic movement. Method's reusable market tote, labeled, "Plastic Bag Rehab," is featured in the gallery and sells on the site for $15.
